The historical results are a baseline. Current candidate decisions, alliances, administrative conditions and electoral participation require new dated evidence.
Begin with what is established
The site has complete winning-party registers for the 2012, 2017 and 2022 Assembly elections, reviewed parliamentary totals for 2024, and a partially reconciled candidate-vote series. Those are observations about completed elections. They do not contain a measured probability for the next one.
The 2022 election also predates major later developments recorded in the governance chronology. Treating its margins as current political sentiment would skip intervening conditions. A historical baseline remains useful precisely when it is kept separate from an assessment of the present.
Candidate and alliance decisions change the field
The final candidate list determines who actually contests, for which party and against whom. Announcements, negotiations and reported intentions are not the same as accepted nominations or a final list after withdrawals. The directory will need a new election-scoped register when official records become available.
A party alliance cannot be evaluated by adding all earlier votes of its members. Voters can respond differently to a new candidate, seat-sharing arrangement or election context. The competition study shows how candidate entry and vote concentration alter the descriptive structure of a contest.
Participation requires an operational evidence base
Electoral rolls, polling arrangements, access and special provisions should be read from current election-authority documents. An old electors total cannot be used as the denominator for a later turnout claim. Roll changes also need a base date and a distinction between additions, deletions and corrections.
Where displacement or access affects voting arrangements, the analysis should document the official rules and the reconciliation of votes. It should not infer turnout, political preference or a community’s intentions from residence, vulnerability or administrative category.
Track recovery through outcomes
Public announcements about relief, infrastructure and assistance are observable events. Their political significance cannot be established merely by counting announcements. A stronger assessment checks whether the intended service or support reached people and remained usable.
The fiscal and rehabilitation studies specify the missing links: sanction, release, expenditure, completion, functioning access and grievance response. A verified improvement or deterioration in those records would change the factual context. It would still not identify how particular individuals will vote.
Use scenarios as conditional questions
The outlook explorer presents neutral scenarios without probabilities. Each asks what evidence would support or weaken a particular description of the environment. A scenario is useful when its conditions are explicit and observable; it becomes misleading when presented as a prediction without a validated model.
The next edition should update the dated evidence register, preserve prior observations and document corrections. Missing polling, unresolved local data and incomplete historical totals remain visible. The objective is a research platform that can explain what changed, rather than a polished number that claims certainty about the future.
