The recorded position

Mathiudin Kamei received 1,163 of 22,551 candidate votes in Jiribam in 2017. The candidate trailed the leading candidate by 7,026 votes. The contest itself was won by Ashab Uddin of IND.

The top two candidates accounted for 65.31% of candidate votes. The leading candidate did not exceed half of candidate votes. The effective-candidate count describes concentration, rather than simply counting names on the ballot.

What follows from the numbers

The share excludes NOTA and rejected ballots. It is not a share of registered electors or a turnout measure. A rank is a recorded position in this contest, not a measure of public approval outside it.

Changes across elections need reviewed identity links, comparable denominators and the full candidate field. This single candidacy cannot establish a party switch, present officeholding, future nomination or the causes of support.
